ARC at Milano Design Week 2026

Updated: Jul 23
From April 20 to 26, Residenza Vignale will host “Echoes of Elsewhere,” an event organized by PILOTO MILANO, now in its third edition.
Curated by Ricardo Gaioso—a creative director and journalist who has specialized in design for over 15 years—the exhibition invites reflection on design without borders, bringing together diverse inspirations, experiments, and raw materials. The project critically examines trends in contemporary living from complementary social and political perspectives.

The ARC studio goes beyond the boundaries of traditional design and contemporary jewelry to embrace the concept of site-specific installation. This year’s production reflects on and definitively abandons the notion of function to become a spatial and architectural element. It is a vision in which the work ceases to be an accessory and asserts itself as a living, unique entity within the environment that hosts it—an act of rebellion against seriality in favor of organic and vibrant uniqueness.
In this context, artist Viola Pineider presents MALÌA, a 3-meter-long work that challenges the static nature of architecture, insinuating itself among the volumes of the Residenza Vignale as a perceptual anomaly—a tangible illusion that destabilizes the coordinates of reality.

MALÌA manifests itself as an organism in the making and does not present itself to the eye as a finished artifact; it is a biological entity borrowed by design that establishes an intense dialogue with the space that hosts it.
