Care
Every ARC piece is handmade in natural materials. Wood and silver are alive to their surroundings and change with time, and a little attention keeps each piece as it was meant to be.
Wood
Most of the collection is worked in reclaimed wood, finished with beeswax or mineral oils. None of these finishes is harmful to skin. Keep wood away from seawater and pool water, and from chemicals such as soap, cleaning products, makeup, cream and perfume. Store each piece on its own, since pieces left together tend to scratch one another. When the wood loses its shine, rub and polish it with a woollen cloth or a clean, soft brush. A drop of mineral oil revives the surface and nourishes the wood.
Silver
Some elements are made in 950 silver. Over time, exposure to air darkens the surface through natural oxidation. To slow this, store each piece on its own and in a dry place, wrapped in tissue paper or cloth, which matters most in humid climates. Keep silver away from cream and perfume. Clean it with a dry silver flannel; matte silver can be cleaned with an abrasive sponge, rubbing in one direction only.
